ABOUT

The Westside Singers have been uplifting and enriching the lives of others with dynamic choral performances for nearly eight decades. Established in 1945 as the Forest Grove Gleemen, the group began as an all-male traditional choral ensemble. In the 1960s, they evolved into the Forest Grove Gleemen and Girls after welcoming female singers into the group. Then, in January of 2000, they finally became known and loved as the Westside Singers, a diverse congregation of men and women from all over the Portland metro area.  Over the years, they performed at many

prestigious events, singing for Princess Grace of Monaco in Europe, appearing at the 1986 World's Fair in Vancouver, B.C., singing the National Anthem at PGE Park and Memorial Coliseum, and more! With a growing emphasis on jazz standards and show tunes, the group continues their rich legacy of musical excellence and community engagement.

The Westside Singers firmly believe in the transformative power of music to bring joy, healing, and connection to others. As a nonprofit organization, they take immense pride in sharing the gift of song through private events as well as public concerts and festivals. A significant amount of their performance seasons is devoted to singing at assisted living facilities, where they bring warmth and nostalgia to residents and caregivers alike, transporting them down memory lane. Seeing their audiences dance,  sing , and embrace these moments is what makes their countless hours of rehearsal truly worthwhile.
